Blanchard Hill

After-work flights are great..! The west wind arrived at Blanchard at just the right time.. I launched at 4:40 PM, immediately climbed to 2,400 feet and glided easily over to Chuckanut Mountain....

Lenticular Cloud

The sky was full of lenticular formations.. The lift was as smooth as glass.. I was lucky to be able to spend most of the flight on Chuckanut.. Worked my way to 3,200 feet out over the water while trying to hook up with the wave off of the San Juan Islands..

Lummi Island

Lummi Peak, the highest point on the island, stands boldly against the late evening sky... The string of small islands in the background appear as stepping stones over Boundary Pass and into Canada's Gulf Islands..
