First Trip..

The weather finally cooperated for a weekend trip up to Frailey Mountain.. DL and I elected to get there early just in case the winter wind-fall was an issue.. No problem though, we drove all the way up without a hitch..

We launched at around 1:30 and got right up in small mixed-up thermal lift.. The day wasn't strong enough to blast through the inversion so we were banging our heads most of the afternoon..

Cloudless Sky..

While there were plenty of decent looking clouds back in the big mountains, the few that formed above the hill were short lived and had a certain anemic quality about them..

No worries, it was still unstable enough to produce a few great climbs and and to keep me up for a little over an hour and a half..

Distinct Inversion Layer

You can really see the inversion altitude in this image.. It seemed like the ceiling was just above three thousand feet; head banging altitude..

I did get a hot little core that boosted me up another five hundred feet or so.. Just enough to convince me to try the hill out in front..
