Into the Depths..

far away, across the hills..
tolling on her alpine bell..
calls the faithful to their knees..
with a softly spoken magic spell..

I yielded to that spell and drove up the pass on pure blind faith.. No plan.. Nothing but a "maybe I'll see you up there" from one of the faithful..

When I got there, it became obvious that the entire dog pack had transferred from dog patch to the lakebed camping area..

It looked like a scene from a movie made across the tracks..

Over Hill and Over Dale..

After flying around freezing my butt off in and out of cloudbase for some time, I went deep to Alta and then crossed Gold Creek to the west.. Things were quite unorganized over here but I was able to stay long enough to capture a few unique images..

Larry J. followed me over.. After squandering my safety altitude during this picture taking exercise, I turned tail and ran back to the cliffs..

Misty Mountains..

It was very cool checking out the mountains from this different perspective.. I would like to spend more time over here in more consistent conditions..

It's tough to hold the camera straight and steady while shaking with a combination of severe cold and pure adrenaline..

This shot is just a little crooked.. But, I got it..

Round Trip Ticket..

After a great day, the wind on the lakebed was uncharacteristically friendly..

Like a reward for those who had been there on such a special day..
