Addicted to Vitamin "R"..

Another decent day at Rampart Ridge.. Since my available time has not allowed for those mid-week excursions to the top of the pass, Sunday turned out to be a good choice..

I launched at 2:45 and slowly worked my way up and over to the goods..

Up in the Valley..

Very similar to last Sunday, the smooth air was great out in front of the ridge.. The first thermals that got me up and over the top were quite exciting though..

Once I got over six thousand, I moved out over the valley and rode the silk up another eight hundred feet..

Vertical Wall..

I often wonder what geologic forces carved out this incredible vertical stone face.. It appears that a huge knife sliced it's way along the ridge to form the near perfect smooth surface..

Check out the lingering patches of snow that decorate the Rampart Lakes area.. Alpine wilderness in an almost pristine state..

Just ignore the corporate greed that hacks out the clear-cuts and it will all be ok...

Alpine Blue..

As I was cruising over the cliff, I got a good look at a number of trails that meandered their way through the lakes.. One day, I may try and hike through that area..

Until then though, this view will just have to do..
