Green and Grey..

It looked like the sun was going to peek out for a while this afternoon.. We made the call late and committed to it at 11:00 am..

The sun was out early.. But, as the afternoon progressed, the sun was mostly obscured by the leading edge of an approaching occluded frontal system that eventually doused the area with the all too familiar wet stuff..

East, into the Mountains..

We pounded our gear together and bailed into the waning bright.. Patches of sun provided enough solar energy to put out some surprisingly good thermal..

We immediately made it up and over the top in very humid conditions.. I was way over-dressed so the sweat from my brow douched my sunglasses to the point of blindness..

No matter; I fly with my eyes closed most of the time anyways..

Moistly Cloudy..

While the altitudes were not spectacular, the lift was consistent and the view was interesting..

It always seems quite curious to be flying good conditions when the sky is mostly obscured..

Remember, "No Brains, No Headaches"..

Out-Front..

After a short time, I drove out to the hill in front.. The sun had been warming that area for a while so it seemed like a good bet.. I got there just in time to join up with a couple of red-tails that had hooked into a decent climb..

We got it up just fine..
