Hikers Point..

Finally...! There's enough daylight to jam out to Tiger for an after work flight..!

Pedal-to-the-metal from Everett to the top of Tiger in one hour and ten minutes..! Pounded my gear together and bailed at 4:30.. Not too bad considering that I had already worked a full eight hour shift..!

After launch, I struggled for a while.. But, I did get a nice face-to-face with a bunch of hikers out on the north ridge-line..

Late Afternoon View..

After what seemed like hours of working marginal poo-poo, I climbed from below a thousand feet to around four thousand..

The late afternoon thermals were smooth but slow for the most part.. Then all of the sudden, the whole place went off..

Above the RF Zone..

I fly with a Flytec vario.. It's an older model so maybe the RF shielding is not quite as good as the more recent versions.. I swear there's this really annoying five hundred feet of RF interference from the towers.. From twenty five hundred to three thousand feet, my vario is completely whacked..!

Anyone else notice that interference..?

Time to Land and Hike..

As the sun moved closer towards the horizon, I elected to land so that there would still be enough daylight left for the hike back to the top.. I managed the climb in thirty eight minutes..

Still made for a long day though..
