Thanks Enron..

Last season at around this time of year (see 3/19/2001 for last years drought fantasy flight photos), the specter of severe drought conditions hung over our heads.. Now, as the Enron scandal unfolds, it becomes obvious that the "drought" was really just another corporate lie intended to dupe the unwashed masses out of more of our hard earned cash.. Thanks Enron and thanks G.W..

Launched into decent ridge lift at around 12:30 and climbed immediately to the misting clouds that were forming over the south face of Blanchard Hill..

Complete Overcast..

The sky was full of moisture and full of gliders today.. There was a well formed band of precipitation off to the south.. But, that rain held off nicely until my glider was packed away for the day..

Threatening Sky..

The moisture roof made for a cool backdrop.. Actually, a cold backdrop would be more accurate.. It was quite cold at altitude today..

When I landed after a couple of hours in the air, I felt like a hang glider Popsicle..

Fair warning to anyone who wants to get onto Fly2K's photo journal though; when I take pictures I am no doubt flying with no hands and with my eyes closed..! Getting too close may be hazardous to both of us.. If I haven't flown with you much, you can count on me running away as fast as I can...

Close to Exxtacy..

This shot was taken from just a little bit too close for my comfort.. I was wondering about Mike's comfort level at this point..

Must not have bothered him too much; it looks like he's flying one-handed.. No worries..!
