Near Cloudbase..

Made a good choice today.. The predictions for northeast winds in the interior almost swayed my judgment for making the trip.. The west wind predicted in the passes however, played a huge role in the decision to head to Tiger..

Set up in a light snow cover and subsequently launched into it at a little before 2:00 pm.. While sinking down 700 feet below launch, things looked bleak until I plowed into solid 400 fpm that took me to my salvation..

Cold Winter Day..

The towers topped off the higher elevations of Tiger with a crown of icy white; a frozen tiara dusted with so many jewels from the sky..

After a quick trip towards cloudbase, I drove right over to the north side of the mountain directly into additional solid lift that put me right above that icy crown..

King Si..

If Tiger were the queen, then Mount Si would be the king.. In the distance, his majestic flanks appeared as royal robes flocked with sparkling diamond dust..

At this point, looking back at the launch area, the flopping hordes had begun their jelly-march off of the hill.. Staying high and staying away became a priority for me..

Seattle shown brightly in the clear winter's chill.. The clarity of this image does not do justice to the reality of the afternoon..

I used a slightly different image processing method on this flight's digital offering.. I will probably revert back to my previous process next time..

Appalling Urban Sprawling..

Every season I am shocked at the unfettered growth allowed by this area.. When I see the sprawl, the state's environmental rhetoric appears to be pure lip service.. It looks to me like if you have the cash to pay for the permit process (bribe process?) you can tear up anything you want..!
