Lake Chelan..

Second day in a row of hugely unstable conditions on the Butte.. Launched into another great cycle and augured up to around 8,000 feet..

The weather to the north held the attention of every pilot in the air today..

Waterville Plateau..

Made the jump to the south today.. There was this great cloud right on the other side.. It was so close that it looked like you could have fallen right into it..

On the far left of this image you can see a second storm cell brewing behind Stormy Mountain; things got interesting to say the least..

The Darkness Looms..

The Okanogan Valley was lit-up again; lit-up with  towering storm cells that is..

Back into It..

No drivers on the flats.. No way to get back on a Sunday afternoon.. Had to make a tough decision to dive back into the teeth of the weather..

I had been watching the wind indication on the river and on the lake.. So far, the indications were that the gust front was not yet a factor..

Dive to the Junkyard..

I flew along the rim until I was within an easy dive to the junkyard.. Pulled the VG full tight and raced at full speed back into the city of Chelan.. Dove down and had a nice landing to the east in a reasonable 10-15mph breeze..

This time, I was lucky..!
