Run Away..!

I got slowed down a bit in Mansfield.. Slowed down just enough to let the squall catch up more that I wanted it to.. I got low and had to dive into a hole for a thermal that TommyP hooked on his way to Simms..

When I finally got the goods, the shade from the approaching weather blocked out the sun all the way to Banks Lake; heading further east was a less than desirable choice..

Go To the Light..

The only choice was to the south towards Saint Andrews.. There were good clouds and plenty of dust devils to lead the way..

It also seemed like the squall-line was further enhancing the already great conditions along the route..

Dry Falls - Coulee City..

After almost getting sucked into a huge cloud over St. Andrews, the 8,700 foot exit ramp felt like some kind of salvation..

South of Coulee City..

Things really slowed down here.. It probably would have been better to try and fly towards Ephrata.. 

A vulture-like soaring bird and I circled together for a while just before I landed in the dustiest field that I've ever seen..
