Time To Go..

Launched into a great cycle and circled immediately to cloudbase.. I felt like a spat cherry pit as I popped out of the edge of the cloud on my way to the flats..

There were good clouds on the way to the rim.. From 7,700 feet, the crossing was a no-brainer..

Dark Shadows..

The further along I got, the darker it looked back toward the Butte.. I managed to stick with every little patch of sun in order to stay with the lift..

More Darkness, North..

The forecast for the Okanogan Valley indicated that there was a good chance of thunderstorms.. 

I think they got it right this time..way down to 4,400

Slow Moving Squall..

The plan was to do an out and return.. The conditions had a different idea though..

For those of you familiar with the area, you may notice the racetrack in Mansfield at the bottom of the picture.. This shot is looking back towards the Butte; west..

Moses Coulee..

One of my favorite places to be; looking down the throat of Moses Coulee.. The image of Jammison Lake and Grimes Lake are made even more dramatic by the contrast of light and dark of the day..
