First day of the XC Classic..

I don't recall the details of the day but the Butte must have been working..

First Sign of Smoke..

A serious fire started up in the Methow Valley. You can see the first sign of smoke rising above Goat Mountain..

More Smoke..

The plume quickly grew as the day progressed.. Later in the week, the smoke would spread all across the region..

The fire retardant bombers would also spread across the area as the fire became more serious..way down to 4,400
