Lake Cavanaugh..

Launched into crappy conditions at first.. There seemed to be a significant west wind to deal with this afternoon..

Once the decent climbs kicked in, the air at altitude was south and the thermals were drifting well over the back.. Topped out at 6,500 feet over the east end of the lake..

Big Lake..

Things really got cooking after 2:00.. I worked my way a couple of thermals west down the spine and eventually ended up at 6,500 feet again..

Big Lake stretches it's way toward the north.. There was good development in that direction but my truck was pleading with me to stay..

Above Cloudbase..

I think that there was some odd convergence area between Stimpson Hill and Mount Washington.. The lift was smooth, steady and continued well above cloudbase..

The small patch of green is the landing area..way down to 4,400

A Hole in the Clouds..

I spent quite a while circling near the clouds.. The convergence area made it a pleasure to navigate through the cloud corridors.. 

I couldn't help laughing to myself while I poked holes in the fluffy white masses of condensate..

Gotta' Love It..!

It's a rare treat to fly a day like this; especially in June.. Usually the marine influence really trims back the altitudes you get here.. You could really see the marine haze sneaking into the lowlands.. I got mine before it got me though..!
