Classic Saddle Shot..

Light winds in Eastern Washington today.. There were even a few downwind cycles at the launch area..

Rick E. launched his ATOS and located the thermal for the rest of us.. The lift was centered out over the Beverly Dunes..

Fall's Lowering Sun..

As fall sets in, the sun rides lower on the horizon.. The Columbia River shines in Sol's  waning glow..

No huge altitudes were gained today but good, solid lift treated us to a fine thermal day at Saddle..

Saddle Launch..

There were a couple of top landings this afternoon.. The most important one was executed by Chris D.. Since his truck was left stranded on top, he pulled off a successful retrieval landing..

Thanks Chris.. I was happy to not have to give you a ride back up..

Sentinel Gap..

The flat orchard area south of the Beverly Bridge is called Sentinel Gap.. The perfectly square layout of the crops has always been a curiosity to me..

But then, I'm easily amused..
