Above the First Cliff..

After a good launch, Scott and I climbed easily above the first rock escarpment.. 

The next set of cliffs looks like an easy glide from here.. Fractocumulus clouds began to decorate the sky all along the ridge.. area

Vulture Squadron Leader..

Eating up the sky like some crazed raptor, Scott and his GhostBuster had their way with Rampart today...

Check out the small patches of snow that still remain in the sheltered areas..

Rampart Lakes..

Liquid topaz highlights the alpine plateau beyond the big cliffs..

Rampart Lakes and Rachel Lake stand out as a testament for the unspoiled beauty of this area of the Cascades..

Kendall Peak..

Across Gold Creek Valley, Kendall Peak was not producing any lift when I was there..

I spent a moment with the maps but was unable to accurately identify the sharp rock peak in the distance.. Mt. Thompson is only my best guess..
