Banks Lake..

For the sake of saving space, the tale will start here on the east side of Banks Lake..

After leaving the best thermal of the season at Sims Corner, the long glide to the other side of Banks Lake proves to be the right decision.. Good lift on the other side takes us to 11,000 and were on our way..

Steamboat Rock..

Looking north you can really get a feel for the big "blue hole" effect produced by the lake.. There's good development on both sides of the lake..

After spending a couple of weekends jet skiing here at Steamboat Rock State Park, it feels good to see it from a different perspective..

Wilbur..

It appeared to me that we were jumping from cloud street to cloud street.. Each big gap in the clouds was followed up with a big thermal to cloudbase..

Most of the day was spent at a very cold 10-12,000 feet.. I should have worn my extra jacket..

Sandpoint River..

In the distance you can see the confluence of the Sandpoint River and the Columbia..
