After Work Special..

Who needs a job anyway..? Don't hang glider pilots ever work for a living..?

When I arrived at the hill at 4:00 PM, there were already pilots in the air.. The SE wind was on it's way to SW and things were looking good..

Smooth launch into smooth conditions.. area

Into the Cascades..

The sky appeared ready to dump another dose of snow in the Cascades..

There were a number of occasions when the sky opened up for a dose of sunshine too..

Straight down the Road..

It's not often that the wind blows straight down the road.. For a while this afternoon, the direction was true south..

Later, the direction shifted to WSW and pilots were flying the west face of the hill..

As always, the classic late afternoon shot of the sun highlighting the water in the San Juan Islands..

Late afternoon flights at Blanchard Hill can be a pure visual experience..
