Brian's my Hero..

By the time Dave and I arrived at the top, Brian was already set-up... He said something like, "The sky is calling me.." and then he bailed..!

Well, he must have heard something because he launched and proceeded to cloudbase in short order.. area

Lake Sammish..

Cloudbase was at around 3,400 feet.. I was able to find a few holes in the clouds and got to 3,800 feet a couple of times..

It was a little brisk but that was ok with me....

Great Clouds with Good Lift..

Excellent cumulus formations today.. My vario indicated a best climb rate at 800 fpm..

There was some over-development and a little bit of small hail to deal with too..

A familiar scene from a familiar site.. Who could have guessed that today would be good today..

We left the Everett area in a rain squall and were greeted with fantastic sunshine and great conditions in the Skagit Valley..

Tide Flats..

Interesting view of low tide in the bay this afternoon.. 

A number of years ago, I heard a story about a pilot who had to land in the mud out there.. The pilot said that the mud was thigh deep.. Bummer..
